Team cares for ICU and step down
level patients for continuity

Day Shift -
2 charges for each unit (ICU and step down), 1 PCT, RNs based on census and acuity needs

o

Night Shift - 2 charges for each unit (ICU and step down), 1 PCT, RNs based on census and acuity needs

Patient Ratios 1:2, 1:1, at times 1:3

Type of equipment IV pumps medfusion and Baxter, beds Hillrom, HARD cribs and cribettes, GE radiant warmers, somanetics NIRS machines, Servo U vents

Typical hiring profile Skill Set Most recruited for:

Must have:
candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role.

1 year of Pediatric CICU/CVICU experience as staff nurse

3-4 contracts in a dedicated pediatric CICU

2 years minimum PICU experience as staff nurse

Experience with caring for patients with congenital heart disease and post operative management of CHD patients

Experience
with management of arterial lines, central lines, transthoracic lines

Preferred or nice to have:
candidates with these skills will be considered first.

2 years or more of Pediatric CICU/CVICU experience as staff nurse

At least 1 year Experience with caring for neonatal cardiac patients (pre-op and post op management)

2 or more years as a Pediatric cardiac experience in step down or cardiology floor

Central line and arterial line placement

Conscious sedation

Intubation/extubation

Post op recovery of general and cardiac procedures

Sternal closures

Codes

ECMO cannulation and decannulation

CRRT
