Englewood, FL

About

Englewood is a tranquil unincorporated community in southwest Florida along the shores of Lemon Bay. The historic district, centered around West Dearborn Street, grew out of an old oxen trail used by early settlers. Many pastel-hued buildings house unique shops, artist studios and eateries for alfresco dining. The Englewood Farmers Market showcases the best food artisans and local growers in the area, with fresh-caught seafood, fresh produce, gourmet baked goods, flowers and handmade artisan items. A few wineries dot the area, like Catania's Winery, where you can enjoy a wine-tasting tour. This region is also renowned for its beaches, with everything from popular Englewood Beach to Stump Pass Beach State Park. The Lemon Bay Playhouse is the place to go for a live show when you're looking for a fun evening out.
