CVOR Surgical Tech ● About Facility: 10628 Park Rd. Charlotte, NC 28210 · 337 licensed beds · No Trauma Designation · Teaching Hospital? No · Chest Pain Center · Stroke Center · Radius rule: Traveler's permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit ● Unit Information: · OR Rooms: 13 ORs plus (1) Procedure/Cysto room ▪ Performs on average 45 cases per day · Minimum Years of Experience required? 2 years of OR exp in specialty (RN, CST, CVOR RN, CVOR CST) · Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes ● Patient Types/Common Diagnoses · CVOR: ▪ Cardiothoracic: CABG, AVR, MVR, Mini mitral, Septal myomectomy ▪ Vascular: Fistula creations, Transcarotid revascularization, carotid & femoral enterectomy, bypasses, iliac artery thrombectomy, brachial pseudo aneurysm repair, Carotid baroreceptor implantation, hybrid cases, dissections ▪ Thoracic: VATS, Robotic resections, lobectomies, pericardial windows ● Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance: · RN: BLS · Surg Tech: BLS, MUST have completed an accredited Surgical Tech (education) Program prior to start ▪ National certification (preferred) ● Skills required: · Please complete the grid below during your phone interview and send it back to CRT team along with interview notes. Please gather as much detail as possible for Manager review. Ortho needs to be a 4-5 · RN (CVOR + Main): ▪ EPIC experience; experience to circulate in the following cases: Orthopedic, Cardiothoracic, Vascular, General, Urology, Robotic, GYN, Colon, Breast, Spine, Podiatry, Plastic ▪ CVOR RN - must have strong and recent experience with CABG, TAVR, Vascular and Thoracic cases · Surg Tech (CVOR + Main): ▪ Experience to scrub in the following cases: Orthopedic, Cardiothoracic, Vascular, General, Urology, Robotic, GYN, Colon, Breast, Spine, Podiatry, Plastic ▪ CVOR Tech - must have strong and recent experience with CABG, TAVR, Vascular and Thoracic cases ● Support within the Department: · OR Assistant - (6) to support department during the weekdays ▪ Support with room turnovers, stocking department, patient positioning, operating certain surgical tables · Receptionist/HUC · Charge nurse · Anesthesia/CRNA, 24/7 ● Technology/Equipment: · EMR: EPIC · IV Pump: Alaris · Med dispensing: Omnicell · Monitors: Phillips ● Floating: If yes, where? · None specified ● Orientation (facility and unit): · Main OR: 1 week · CVOR: 2 weeks · Orientation will be five 8-hour shifts. If the traveler is unable to accommodate this schedule, please reach out to management for approval. ● Scheduling: · Weekend rotation: Typically only for call · Call Required: ▪ 30-minute response time ▪ Sleep Room available ● Main OR: o 3-4 Weeknight calls per 6-week schedule ▪ 12hr shifts 7p-7a o 1-2 Weekend shifts (may not be the same weekend) per 6-week schedule ▪ 7a-7p or 7p-7a (Sat or Sun) ● CVOR: o 4-5 Weeknight calls per 6-week schedule ▪ 12hr shifts - as early as 5p-7a o 1 - 2 Weekends per 6-week schedule ▪ Friday as early as 5p-7a Monday · Holiday Expectations: Holidays are done on a call rotation, which travelers will be part off ● Other notes: · Scrub Color: Provided · Parking: Free ●
