RN . . About Facility: 201 E. Grover St, Shelby NC 28150 o 241 licensed beds o Level 3 Trauma o Teaching Hospital? No o Certified Chest Pain Center o Stroke Center ● Unit Information: o Beds: 32 o Minimum Years of Experience required? 18 months PCU RN experience o Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes ● Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: o Could see any patient not requiring mechanical ventilation - CHF, Dysrhythmia, Chest Pain work up, Stroke, Abdominal illnesses and infections, Respiratory illness, Diabetes, AKI/CKD, ETOH withdrawal, IVDA, etc. ● Patient Ratios: o RN: 1:4 is most common; could possibly go to 1:5 depending on acuity ● Required Licensure & Certifications: o BLS, ACLS, NIHSS ● Skills required: o Experience with traches, cardiac gtt experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, blood products, wound care/dressing changes, management of central lines ● Support within the Department: o CNA - ADL's o Receptionist/HUC? Dayshift only o Charge nurse - Resource to assist with all nursing care o Phlebotomy? Yes, other than nurse draws o IV/VAT Team o RT, 24/7 o Hospitalist, 24/7 o Intensivist, 24/7 o Telemetry monitoring - bedside and nurses station ● Technology/Equipment: o EMR: EPIC o IV Pump: Alaris o Med dispensing: Omnicell o Monitors: Phillips ● Floating: o Within region and scope of practice o Will be required to float per region needs - will require floating to all facilities listed below, as needed, within scope of practice - DECLINE if not agreeable ▪ Region 3 - Cleveland, Kings Mtn, Lincoln, Central Division (CMC Main + Mercy + LCH) ▪ If floating mid-shift, Traveler will be paid for the time traveling between facilities (will remain on the clock) ● Orientation (facility and unit): o NEO o 2 days departmental ● Scheduling: o Weekend rotation: every other o No call o Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays o RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays - must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours o Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks ● Other notes: o Scrub Color: Navy o Parking: Free?
