RN - ED ● About Facility: o Albemarle, NC (about an hour from Charlotte, NC) o Licensed Beds o No Trauma Designation o Not a Teaching Hospital no residents/students o Advanced Primary Stroke Center o Radius rule: Traveler s permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit ● Unit Information: o Beds: 16 o Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years ED RN experience (Resource Team requirement) o Will you accept a first-time traveler? Not preferred will consider ● Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: o Pediatric and Adult o COPD, CHF, Chest Pain, MI, N-STEMI, Stroke, TIA, new onset cardiac arrhythmia, uncontrolled DM, minor trauma ● Patient Ratios: o RN: 1:4-5, based on acuity o CNA: 1:10 ● Required Licensure Certifications: o RN: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI. CPI can be obtained within 30 days of starting; TNCC (preferred) ● Skills required: o General ED skillset - Cardiac rhythm interpretation, experience with critical care drips, vent management, chest tubes, PIV starts, TNK/TPA administration, conscious sedation, ESI Assessments, etc. ● Support within the Department: o CNA o Charge nurse: may or may not have patient assignment o IV/VAT Team: Ancillary dept, but not in house every day o RT, 24/7 o Hospitalist, 24/7 o ED Physician Team o Bedside and Central Tele Monitoring ● Technology/Equipment: o EMR: Epic o IV Pump: Alaris o Med dispensing: Omnicell o Monitors: Phillips o Unit specific equipment: General med-surg equipment and tele monitors ● Floating: o Will be required to float per region needs will require floating to all facilities listed below, as needed, within scope of practice DECLINE if not agreeable o Region 1 - Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, any Freestanding ED within Region, Lake Norman, Central Division (CMC Main + Mercy + LCH) o If floating mid-shift, Traveler will be paid for the time traveling between facilities (will remain on the clock) ● Orientation (facility and unit) : o NEO o 2 days departmental ● Scheduling: o Weekend rotation: every other o No call o Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays o RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours ● Other notes: o Scrub Color: Navy o Parking: Free
