About Facility: o 457 licensed beds Trauma Level III Teaching Hospital Chest Pain Center Stroke Center of Excellence Bariatric Center of Excellence Radius rule: Traveler’s permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit ● Unit Information: Minimum Years of Experience required? ▪ ED RN: 2 years ED exp (Resource Team) Will you accept a first-time traveler? Not preferred but will consider (Resource Team) ● Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: Trauma level 3 GSW, Stabbing, MVA, Falls, Stroke, Heart Failure, Chest pain, patient requiring fluid resuscitation/blood products, COPD, Cardiac Cath pre, ETOH/CIWA, IVDA, mental health, Respiratory illnesses, GI Disorders and infections, Liver Failure, AKI/CKD ● Patient Ratios: RN: 1:5 max (acuity dependent) ● Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance: ED RN: Required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI; Preferred: TNCC ● Skills required: ED RN: Trauma experience, Stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, conscious sedation, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management, critical care drips, blood administration, etc. ● Support within the Department: CNA ratios vary Receptionist/HUC Charge nurse, 24/7 may or may not have patients IV/VAT Team RT, 24/7 Hospitalist, 24/7 ED Physicians ● Technology/Equipment: EMR: EPIC IV Pump: Alaris Med dispensing: Omnicell Monitors: Phillips ● Floating: Will be required to float per region needs will require floating to all facilities listed below, as needed, within scope of practice DECLINE if not agreeable Region 1 - Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, any Freestanding ED within Region, Lake Norman, Central Division (CMC Main + Mercy + LCH) If floating mid-shift, Traveler will be paid for the time traveling between facilities (will remain on the clock) ● Orientation (facility and unit) : NEO o 2 days departmental ● Scheduling: Weekend rotation: every other No call for travelers Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours ● Other notes: Scrub Color: Navy Parking: Free
