Description
- Must have at least 3 years of NICU experience.
- Previous permanent employees of ANY Providence-affiliated facility must have a minimum 3-month separation before applying.
- All Swedish facilities accept active compact nursing licenses.
- Primary assignment in a Level III or IV NICU (23-24 weeks gestation patients).
- NICU does not perform ECMO, but uses CPAP/BiPap, high-frequency vents, oscillators, and standard ventilators.
- Responsible for blood/blood product administration, cardioversion/defibrillation, use of cooling/warming blankets, feeding tubes, PICC/central lines, and syringe pumps.
- May attend high-risk deliveries and care for postoperative neonatal surgery patients.
- Rarely admits babies; dedicated Admit Nurse usually handles admissions.
- Very rarely floats to Pediatrics; if so, will only care for infants.
- May float to Issaquah or Edmonds SCN, or Pediatrics/Newborn Nursery (NBN) for newborn care only.
- Must be open to floating to different campuses as needed.
- NICU unit is large: 77 beds with an average census of 50.
- Block scheduling is available (can work 3 or more shifts in a row if preferred).
