Description
Job Summary
- Provide care as a Registered Nurse (RN) in a Level III or Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), focusing on specific patient populations and health conditions.
- Use the Parkland nursing professional practice model to coordinate and deliver patient care with the healthcare team.
- Assess patients, identify nursing diagnoses, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate patient responses using the nursing process.
- Assist patients in transitioning through healthcare encounters, aiming to prevent complications or delays.
- Delegate interventions to appropriate healthcare personnel based on Texas Nursing Practice Act, patient condition, and employee competencies.
- Utilize knowledge of patient needs and the healthcare environment to provide safe, effective care.
- Required to have at least 2 years of current Level III or Level IV NICU experience.
- Must have experience with HIE (Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy), surfactant administration, and PICC line placement.
- Must disclose any previous Parkland employment history.
- Must hold an active Texas or Compact RN license and have current certifications in BLS (AHA or ARC) and NRP.
- Required to have experience with EPIC electronic medical record system.
- Submit a current resume, NICU-specific skills checklist, two recent supervisory references, and proof of taxable address.
- Local candidates (within 60 miles) will have a lower pay rate.

Med Ninjas Job ID #1348. Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
