Job Summary (List Format):

- Applies principles of asepsis to maintain a sterile environment.
- Demonstrates competency in technical and psychomotor skills, judgment, and appropriate knowledge base.
- Provides age-specific patient care following department policies and procedures.
- Assists in organizing and coordinating supplies and equipment to ensure departmental efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Maintains a safe environment for patients, coworkers, and self.
- Adheres to safety and legal requirements set by the hospital, unit, and established policies and procedures.
- Charges for equipment and supplies used.
- Participates in room turnover and surgical room set-up.
- Cleans and maintains equipment; identifies and reports items needing repair per policy.
- Performs sterilization and disinfection of equipment and documents loads according to policy.
- Maintains sterility during surgical setup and procedures using aseptic techniques.
- Assists in obtaining and setting up supplies, equipment, and positioning devices; helps position patients for procedures.
- Performs and documents sterilization of surgical instruments as per policy.
- Performs scrubbing duties, including precepting and training Medical Students, Residents, and other students.
- Efficiently turns over and sets up operating rooms for the next patient.
