Job Summary (List Format):

- Coordinate and implement individualized patient care plans utilizing the nursing process and adhering to organizational standards, values, and mission.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care based on assessments to optimize outcomes and resource use.
- Prioritize tasks, use critical thinking, and exercise sound judgment with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Adhere to triage, treatment, evaluation, and documentation guidelines.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure quality outcomes and seamless patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and addressing psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
- Identify and address barriers to effective communication, considering psychosocial, literacy, financial, and cultural factors.
- Assess and provide appropriate education to patients and families, tailored to their age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Delegate patient care tasks to ancillary personnel and may serve as a preceptor for students and new staff.
- Uphold professional and ethical nursing standards as outlined by the ANA Code of Ethics and Colorado State Nurse Practice Act.
- Demonstrate caring behaviors and develop therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Exhibit commitment to organizational values (CHOICE) and represent the organization positively and professionally.
- Establish and maintain effective verbal and written communication and positive working relationships with patients, staff, and vendors.
- Adhere to the organization’s dress code and policies.
- Demonstrate initiative, self-motivation, and effective time management.
- Complete all required education, training, and licensure/certification updates; engage in meetings or review minutes as needed.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality at all times.
- Arrive punctually and complete duties within designated timeframes.
- Contribute to departmental and organizational performance improvement and quality initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and organizational requirements and standards.
- Follow infection control, safety, and risk management procedures to maintain a safe environment for all.

Qualifications:

- Current and active Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact license (required).
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS/ENPC, TNCC, STABLE, and NRP certifications (or obtained within specified timeframes).
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field (preferred).
- Two years hospital nursing experience (preferred).
- One year ED or Critical Care nursing experience (preferred).
- Must meet background, drug screen, and health requirements.
