RN – Emergency Department (ED) 

Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department
Specialty: Emergency Room / ED
Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant RN experience
EMR: EPIC
Trauma: Level II or higher preferred

Job Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department.
• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and providers.
• Administer medications, treatments, and nursing interventions according to orders and protocols.
• Continuously evaluate patients and modify the plan of care as needed.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately to emergencies.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient documentation in EPIC.
• Follow ED-specific nursing procedures, standards, and protocols.
• Promote patient and staff safety by identifying, reporting, and correcting safety hazards.
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with providers, nurses, patients, families, and other healthcare team members.
• Provide constructive feedback and support the professional development of colleagues.
• Maintain required departmental competencies and stay current with nursing practices.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of relevant nursing experience
• ASN required
• Illinois RN License in good standing
• BLS – AHA
• ACLS – AHA
• PALS – AHA
• EPIC experience required

Preferred

• BSN
• TNCC – Highly Preferred
• Previous experience in a Level II Trauma Center or higher
