Description
- Provides direct nursing care to patients undergoing endoscopic procedures (e.g., colonoscopy, EGD, bronchoscopy).
- Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates pre-, intra-, and post-procedure patient care.
- Prepares procedure rooms and equipment, ensuring proper sterilization and functionality.
- Administers moderate sedation and monitors patient vital signs and comfort during procedures.
- Assists physicians during endoscopic procedures, anticipating needs and providing instruments and supplies.
- Educates patients and families about procedures, recovery, and post-procedure care instructions.
- Documents all aspects of patient care and procedure details accurately in medical records.
- Responds promptly to patient needs and emergencies, utilizing critical thinking and quick decision-making.
- Maintains compliance with infection control, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Participates in quality improvement and continuing education activities relevant to Endoscopy nursing.
