Registered Nurse – Telemetry

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a telemetry/medical-surgical environment. The RN will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while monitoring cardiac rhythms and responding appropriately to changes in patient condition.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care.
• Monitor patients' cardiac rhythms, vital signs, oxygen saturation, and clinical status.
• Recognize and respond promptly to changes in cardiac rhythm and patient condition.
• Administer medications and treatments safely according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
• Provide direct patient care while maintaining patient safety and comfort.
• Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate patient care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EHR.
• Educate patients and families regarding medications, treatment plans, disease management, and discharge instructions.
• Follow infection-control practices, patient-safety standards, and hospital policies.
• Participate in handoff communication and ensure continuity of care between shifts.
• Float to other appropriate units as needed based on facility requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Recent Telemetry/Med-Surg nursing experience
• Strong cardiac monitoring and assessment skills
• Excellent communication and documentation skills

Required Certifications

• BLS – Required
• ACLS – Required for most telemetry assignments
• NIHSS
