Description
- Position: Cardiac PCU Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Contract
- Eligibility:
- Perm candidates from non-Swedish Providence facilities eligible if separated for ≥3 months
- All Swedish facilities honor active compact license
- Unit Experience:
- Minimum 2 years Cardiac PCU/Telemetry RN experience required
- Surgical telemetry, open heart surgery, vascular (groin/radial band) management experience required
- Experience with IV skills, NIHSS, myocardial infarction, arrhythmia management, pre/post open-heart & vascular surgery, coronary artery disease, heart failure, and cath lab patients
- Optional: VAD, TAVR, structural heart support experience
- Certifications Required:
- ACLS
- BLS
- NIHSS
- Systems & Skills:
- EPIC EMR experience required (hard stop)
- Cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia recognition/management
- Chest tube and sternal precaution experience
- Blood/blood product administration
- Cardioversion/defibrillation, epicardial pacer management
- CPAP/BiPAP, trach care, breathing treatments
- LVAD, open heart post-op care (24-28 hours post-op)
- Schedule & Expectations:
- Floating to like units required; flexibility is a must
- Every other weekend required
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4 (up to 1:5 at midnight)
- Unit does NOT accept first-time travelers
- Patient Population:
- MI, arrhythmias, pre/post open-heart & vascular surgery, coronary artery disease, heart failure, stroke with cardiac involvement, structural heart support
