Job Summary: Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (Adult)

- Shifts & Schedule:
- 12-hour shifts: 7a-7p or 7p-7a, 13-week contract
- Every other weekend and holiday required
- Requests for time off must be submitted at application
- Facility may cancel up to 3 shifts/contract
- First-time travelers accepted; local RNs within 75 miles not accepted

- Charting:
- EPIC charting experience required

- Licensure/Certifications:
- Active New York Single State RN license (no pending or compact licenses)
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required

- Clinical Skills Required:
- IV therapy (including blood products, central line care, phlebotomy, vasopressors)
- Ventilator management, CPAP/BiPAP
- Cardiac monitoring (dysrhythmia interpretation/management)
- Emergency care for adult and pediatric patients, including trauma (neuro, spinal, TBI, ortho, gunshot wounds)
- Isolation precautions, triage, and care of spinal cord injuries

- Unit Details:
- Patient ratio: 1:5 (adults/geriatrics, all emergency diagnoses)
- Use of special equipment: Bair hugger, rapid infuser, safe patient handling equipment
- Floating required within skillset
- Scrub color: Navy blue and white (any combination)
