Job Summary for LPN – Medical Surgical (5800):

- Schedule:

Night 4x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00)

12-hour shifts (7p-7a), 13-week contract, every other weekend and holiday required.
- Charting: EPIC experience required.
- Licensure: Active New York Single State LPN license required; no pending licenses accepted.
- Certifications: BLS required.
- Clinical Experience: Recent (within 2 years) acute care experience required.
- Patient Care: Must be able to independently manage patient assignments with RN support.
- Clinical Skills: Proficient in blood product administration, central/peripheral line care, phlebotomy, IV management, PICC line management, oxygen administration, trach and feeding tube care, telemetry monitoring, rapid response/code teams, isolation precautions, wound care/vac, ortho trauma, total joint replacements, surgical drains, and heparin protocols.
- Unit: Complex care unit for medical, ortho overflow, and long-term patients; nurse-to-patient ratio 1:5–6.
- Floating: Required to float within skillset as needed.
- Dress Code: Navy blue and white scrubs (any combination).
- Special Requests: All time-off and scheduling requests must be submitted with application.
- Call Off Policy: Up to three shifts may be canceled by the client during contract.
- First-Time Travelers/Locals: First-time travelers accepted; locals accepted at a reduced rate.
- Hospital: Rochester General Hospital, 528-bed Magnet hospital, affiliated with Cleveland Clinic and Roswell Park; offers advanced specialty services.
