- Provide direct patient care to acutely ill patients in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU), also known as Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or Step Down unit.
- Monitor, assess, and document patient condition, vital signs, and response to treatment.
- Administer medications, intravenous therapies, and other prescribed treatments accurately and safely.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition, reporting critical information to physicians and other team members.
- Educate patients and families regarding disease processes, treatments, and post-hospital care.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Utilize critical thinking and advanced assessment skills to care for patients transitioning from ICU-level care to general medical/surgical floors.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Participate in ongoing education and professional development activities.
