Job Summary (List Format) – Surgical Technician – CVOR at Altru (Grand Forks, ND)

- Serve as a CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) Technologist, specializing in heart and vascular surgical procedures.
- Organize and prepare surgical case set-up following standard operating procedures.
- Assist Registered Nurse with circulating duties, such as prepping patients, retrieving supplies, and printing images.
- Clean, assemble, operate, and maintain surgical instruments and equipment, including bronchoscopy and EGD equipment.
- Aid in orientation and training of second heart scrubs.
- Deliver patient care according to surgery diagnosis or procedure, using procedure cards and established hospital policies.
- Document changes to procedures on procedure cards after each case.
- Order and stock surgical supplies; print procedure cards; assist RN during on-call cases (Lab, Blood Bank, etc.).
- Participate in monitoring and measuring quality indicators and surgical outcomes.
- Serve as subject matter expert for vascular and endovascular procedures.
- Identify and communicate unique surgical techniques and instruments, including complex, life-saving devices and equipment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to meet department and organizational needs.

Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of recent cardiovascular operating room experience required.
- Travel experience required; preferred candidates have completed at least 3 travel assignments.
- North Dakota license: Must be registered as Unlicensed Assistive Person, RN, or LPN.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Submission must include a resume and a detailed skills checklist.
- Local travelers accepted.
- Must be able to join ShiftWise Flex vendor pool if contracted.
