Job Summary (List Format):

- Provides professional nursing care to a group of patients using the nursing process and current best practices.
- Performs all unit-specific duties and responsibilities within the scope of service.
- Implements nursing procedures and theories related to Emergency Department (ED) practice.
- Completes initial patient assessments and develops individualized care plans in collaboration with providers, patients, and families.
- Executes and regularly modifies care plans and interventions based on ongoing patient assessments.
- Maintains accurate, up-to-date documentation of all nursing care provided.
- Ensures patient and staff safety by identifying, reporting, and correcting safety hazards and following safety standards.
- Communicates effectively and collaborates with staff, patients, visitors, and families to support a healthy work environment.
- Offers constructive feedback to peers and participates in professional development activities.
- Identifies personal learning needs and takes initiative for continued education and skill development.
- Fulfills all departmental competencies as required.
- Works night shifts (7:00PM-7:30AM) with required call shifts, and must be able to respond onsite within an hour for call shifts.
- Requires minimum of three (3) years relevant nursing experience and an Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ASN); Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Must hold a valid Illinois RN license, BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (American Heart Association).
