Job Description :

- Provides professional nursing care to a group of patients using the nursing process and current best practices.
- Performs all required unit-specific responsibilities and duties within the scope of service.
- Implements procedures and nursing theories related to the specific area of practice.
- Maintains accurate, up-to-date documentation of patient care using EMR.
- Completes initial patient assessments and develops individualized care plans based on patient and family needs.
- Implements and modifies plans of care, nursing interventions, and patient procedures as needed.
- Ensures patient and employee safety by identifying and reporting safety hazards/incidents.
- Communicates effectively with team members and resolves conflicts professionally.
- Offers constructive feedback to peers and collaborates to expand clinical knowledge.
- Identifies personal learning needs and actively seeks professional development opportunities.
- Fulfills all department-specific competency requirements.
- Manages care for acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients.
- Collaboratively sets patient goals and maintains care plans with patients and families.
- Administers medications, manages IVs, prepares patients for procedures, and monitors lab results.
- Provides discharge instructions and ensures safe transition from hospital to home.
- Participates in team huddles and ensures completion of basic patient care (turning, toileting, etc.).
- Delegates tasks appropriately and follows up as needed.
- Responds promptly to call lights and patient needs.
- Utilizes conflict management and maintains professional communication with all team members.

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum one (1) year of relevant nursing experience.
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ASN); BSN preferred.
- Valid Illinois RN license in good standing.
- BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association).
- Experience with Telemetry, Trauma 1, and EPIC required.
- Proficient in English (speak, read, write).
- 12-hour day shifts (7:00AM – 7:30PM).
