Description

Job Summary (List Format):

- Provides direct nursing care to a designated group of patients using the nursing process and current best practices.
- Assumes responsibility for patient care for assigned shifts, ensuring quality and safety.
- Performs duties and responsibilities as required by unit scope of service.
- Implements procedures and nursing theories relevant to the assigned area.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date documentation for integrated team use.
- Conducts initial assessments and develops individualized care plans based on patient and family needs.
- Implements and modifies care plans and nursing interventions as needed.
- Prioritizes patient and staff safety by identifying and reporting hazards or incidents.
- Communicates effectively with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team.
- Provides constructive feedback and collaborates with colleagues for professional development.
- Identifies and addresses own learning needs.
- Complies with all departmental competencies.
- Floats to various inpatient units (Medical-Surgical, Oncology, Orthopedic, Advanced Care, ICUs).
- Completes Unit Nurse Leader Training as necessary.
- Precepts and mentors staff from various units as needed.
- Coordinates care with multidisciplinary team members for optimal patient outcomes.
- Requires minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience.
- Must have Trauma 1 and EPIC experience.
- Works night shifts (7:00PM - 7:30AM) as part of a float pool.
- Requires ASN degree (BSN preferred).
- Holds current Illinois RN license, BLS, and ACLS certifications.
- Proficient in English (read, write, speak).
Med Ninjas Job ID #5187. Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
