Job Opportunity: Cardiac Tele Registered Nurse
Location: Stockbridge, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 14 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a Cardiac Telemetry unit with adult to geriatric patient population. The role involves managing patients with cardiac arrhythmias, cardiac drips, and various medical-surgical conditions in an overflow IMCU setting.
Required Experience & Skills
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
- Minimum 1 year of telemetry nursing experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- Experience managing continuous IV medications
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Certifications & Licenses
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
Work Details
- Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 5-6 patients
- Unit size: 32 beds
- Floating: Yes, within facility and scope of practice as needed
- Call: Rare, with 2-hour response time; travelers typically do not manage Precedex
- Weekends: Typically every other weekend, filling gaps after permanent staff scheduling
- Holidays: Required to work major holidays if they fall during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)
- Orientation: Maximum 7 days per contract
- Electronic systems: Epic (preferred), Pyxis, SBAR
- Dress code: Navy blue scrub color
Compliance & Onboarding Requirements
- Full compliance with all onboarding requirements is mandatory to start on time; delays in compliance may result in a 2-week pushback due to orientation scheduling
- Background check required within 30 days prior to start, including education verification and criminal history
- Drug screen: Negative 10-panel drug test within 60 days of start (includes amphetamines, benzodiazepines, cocaine, opiates, methadone, PCP, THC, etc.)
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- TB questionnaire updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B surface antibody titer or signed declination
- Flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
- TDAP highly recommended but not required
- Competency exams required by agency:
- Medication/Pharmacology competency
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency (max 3 attempts allowed)
- Color blindness test
- Skills checklist updated within 12 months
- Verification of recent work history and 2 clinical references required

- Locals accepted at the same rate
- Candidate clinical fit will be reviewed by clinical team before final manager approval
- Non-billable orientation hours vary by contract length
- Call is rare and limited in scope for travelers
