Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Cath Lab
Location: Los Angeles, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Provide patient care in the Special Procedures department, including observation, evaluation, and coordination of care. Participate in direct and indirect patient care activities following organizational policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in California
- Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the last year (minimum 1 year)
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- HLFS certification
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and analyze patient health data to determine diagnoses and care plans.
- Develop and implement care plans to achieve patient outcomes.
- Monitor and interpret electrocardiogram (EKG) and hemodynamic parameters; alert physicians to changes.
- Operate specialized equipment including Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), Cardiac Output machines, Defibrillators, and X-ray systems.
- Collaborate with healthcare team, patients, and families to provide safe, effective, and compassionate care.
- Provide education to patients, families, and team members.
- Maintain accurate documentation and report significant findings during procedures.
Compliance & Requirements
- Current picture identification required.
- Background check covering the last 7 years required within 30 days of start.
- Drug testing required within 30 days before start.
- Physical exam required within 90 days of start.
- Immunizations and health screenings required, including:
- COVID-19 vaccination (medical/religious exemptions may apply)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years or positive titer (declinations accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 30 days of start, updated annually
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B titers or vaccinations (declinations accepted)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or facility-specific declination/exemption required during flu season
- N95 fit test preferred; onsite fit testing available if needed.
- Fire safety training ("Fire Card") required within 30 days of start.
- Competency exams required, including medication/pharmacology, dysrhythmia/EKG, conscious sedation, and others as applicable.
- References: 2 clinical references verified within 1 year of start.
- Complete employment application/resume with 7-year work history.
