Cath Lab Tech Travel/Contract Position
Location: Clearwater, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 4x10 hour shifts (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM), 40 hours per week
Facility Type: Short Term Acute Care, Teaching Hospital
Total Staffed Beds: 599
Job Summary
Seeking a Cath Lab Tech with a minimum of 2 years of experience in Radiology/Cardiology. This is a travel/contract role with no acceptance of first-time travelers. Candidates must live more than 100 miles away from the facility. On-call duties are required.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Radiology Technologist, including experience within the last year
- Certifications:
- ACLS (AHA only, RQI accepted)
- BLS (AHA only, RQI accepted)
- RCIS (Cardiovascular Credentialing International Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist), ARRT (Radiologic Technologist), or CCI certification
- Valid Driver’s License, active and current throughout assignment
- Florida AHCA Level II Fingerprint Clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting recommended)
- Background checks including:
- Standard 7-year history check
- EPLS/GSA/SAM
- HHS/OIG
- Education verification (including foreign equivalency if applicable)
- Physical exam within 6 months of start
- Negative TB test (PPD, Qgold, or Tspot) within 10 weeks of start or chest X-ray if prior positive PPD
- Annual TB questionnaire completion required
- Required immunizations or titers with boosters as needed:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
- Varicella
- Standard 9-panel drug test within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
- Respirator medical clearance annually if respirator use is required
- Two professional references from within the past 2 years
- Employment application and skills checklist required
Experience & Skills
- Prior travel experience not accepted (first-timers not accepted)
- Experience or willingness to learn preferred equipment:
- Phillips Imaging Equipment
- Phillips Xper
- Manifold system
- Charting system: Cerner
- Scrub color: Red
Scheduling & Other Requirements
- Block scheduling may be accommodated depending on need and manager approval
- Locals not accepted; must reside more than 100 miles from the facility
- Return to Office (RTO) restrictions apply; RTOs cannot be included in the contract but will be honored if approved by manager
- On-call required
Facility Specific Requirements
- Photo for badge required prior to start (clear, professional, solid background, no filters or cropped images)
- Completion of mandatory online account registration and training modules prior to start (approx. 4-8 hours)
- Compliance with dress code and tobacco policy
- Completion of BayCare AHCA privacy policy, affidavit, and demographic information sheet (if not previously registered within 5 years)
- Completion of hurricane exemption survey if assignment falls between June 1 and November 30
Competency & Testing Requirements
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (score 80% or higher) as applicable
- Color blind testing (Relias online exam) prior to start
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for Cath Lab and related units; must score 100% on lethal arrhythmia section
- Stroke education CEUs and NIH Stroke Certification may be required depending on unit (not specifically for this role)
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification not required for this role
Notes
- Candidates must upload all required documentation to be cleared for assignment
- Modules and training must be completed by the Thursday prior to start date to avoid delays or removal from assignment
