Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular
Location
- Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Job Summary
Provide nursing care to patients with cardiovascular conditions under general supervision. Care involves patients with a range of health problems from simple to complex on a mixed cardiovascular unit.
Unit Details
- Mixed Cardiovascular floor with 24 beds: 12 Step-Down and 12 Med-Surgical
- Located in a newer tower with monitors in patient rooms
Responsibilities
- Manage an assigned group of patients
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and physician orders
- Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Obtain and monitor physiological data; intervene as necessary
- Administer medications, intravenous infusions, and blood products
- Deliver competent patient care
- Communicate care plans and hospital procedures to patients and families
- Make referrals for patient care needs
- Delegate tasks to support staff
Required Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of Cardiovascular Unit (CVU) experience within the last year
- Experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU), Step-Down, and Med-Surgical units
- Familiarity with chest tubes and drips
Education
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
Licenses & Certifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Work Schedule
- 12-hour shifts
- Approximately 36 hours per week
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
