Job Summary
Performs CT procedures using ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes, with responsibility for producing high-quality scans and following department protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Valid CT Technologist license in Montana
- 1 year of CT Technologist experience
- CT Technologist experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- ARRT (R) certification
- Associate degree
Experience
- 1 to 2 years of CT experience
- 1 to 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting
Preferred Qualifications
- ARRT (CT) certification
- Fluoroscopy certification for caregivers hired in Colorado
Key Responsibilities
- Verify patient identity and prepare patients for exams
- Perform exams according to department protocol
- Review images for quality, clarity, and accuracy
- Follow radiation safety guidelines
- Provide patient education and comfort
- Coordinate patient care and communicate pertinent information after procedures
- Maintain infection control and sterile technique
- Keep accurate records and follow medical necessity, coding, charging, consent, and QC requirements
- Administer contrast media under physician or radiologist supervision when ordered
- Assist and instruct students and other radiology technologists
