Schedule: Night shift, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 13-week contract; every other weekend required; every other holiday availability required

Highlights:

• Expert-level cardiovascular intensive care with complex cardiac surgery patients including heart transplant, ECMO, LVAD/RVAD, IABP, and Impella support
• Patient ratios of 1:2, with occasional 1:1 for high-acuity cases such as Impella management
• 16-bed CVICU caring for patients with sepsis, ARDS, renal failure, heart failure, multi-organ failure, post-cardiac arrest, and advanced cardiac device management
• EPIC charting system with 24-hour orientation provided
• Magnet-recognized acute care teaching facility with 24/7 provider coverage and collaborative multidisciplinary support
• Floating within ICU skill set; first-time travelers welcome

Requirements:

• Active New York Single State RN license in hand prior to submission (New York is not a Compact state; pending licenses not accepted)
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of CVICU nursing experience with documented patient ratio experience of 1:2
• Previous travel nursing experience required; candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible
• EPIC charting experience is a hard requirement
• Proficiency in arterial line management, central line and PICC line care, blood product administration, and ventilator management including HFNC and BiPAP/CPAP
• Experience with continuous IV sedation and paralytics, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, emergency medications, and procedural sedation
• Demonstrated competency in CABG care, Impella, IABP, LVAD/RVAD, Swan-Ganz monitoring, CVVHD/CRRT, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, 12-lead EKG acquisition, and management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Charge experience preferred
