Schedule: Day or night shift available; 12-hour shifts; 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio; minimum 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period; no on-call required

Highlights:

• 40-bed cardiovascular progressive care unit specializing in cardiac surgery and vascular surgery patients
• Primary patient population includes open heart surgery (CABG, valve replacements, TAVR), thoracic lung surgery, vascular procedures (AAA repair, fem-pop bypass, carotid endarterectomies), and medical cardiology overflow
• Cerner EMR system; utilize advanced equipment including Baxter IV pumps and CADD epidural pumps
• Collaborative team environment with charge nurse support, dedicated PCTs, and unit coordinators
• Opportunity to manage complex cardiac drips, epidurals, chest tubes, and post-surgical cardiovascular patients
• Sign-on or relocation bonus available

Requirements:

• Active North Carolina RN license or compact state license
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Stepdown and telemetry experience required
• Prior cardiovascular surgery and vascular surgery population experience within the past year strongly preferred
• CVICU experience preferred
• Must be flexible to float to other stepdown or medical-surgical units as needed
