Job Opportunity – Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse (NICU) – North Carolina

Start Date: March 16, 2026
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 36 hours per week, 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15), 13-week contract

Highlights:

  • Level 3/4 NICU caring for premature infants as early as 22 weeks and complex surgical cases
  • Patient ratios of 1:2-4 with no call requirement
  • Comprehensive patient population including therapeutic hypothermia, nitric oxide, and ventilator management
  • Epic charting system with self-scheduling based on unit needs
  • 24 hours of unit orientation provided
  • Weekend requirement: 3 Fridays, 3 Saturdays, and 3 Sundays per 6-week period

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of recent experience in a Level 3 or Level 4 NICU required
  • Current BLS and NRP certifications required
  • North Carolina or Compact state nursing license (must be active at start date)
  • Ventilator management experience required
  • Experience with premature neonates, surgical infants, and special procedures (UAC/UVC, therapeutic hypothermia, nitric oxide)
  • Proficiency with Epic charting system preferred
  • Willingness to float to Pediatrics, PICU, or nursery caring for infants up to 12 months of age
  • Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
