Description
Start Date: April 6, 2026
Location: Newark, New Jersey
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 37.5 hours per week; flexibility required for end-of-shift documentation and patient needs
Highlights:
- Specialized focus on pressure injury assessment, staging, prevention, and treatment protocols
- Collaborate with ICU teams caring for open heart surgery, heart and lung transplant patients
- Work with primary nurses and educators to validate staging, documentation, and treatment plans
- Maintain detailed patient tracking metrics using Excel for quality improvement initiatives
- Participate in wound rounds and prevalence studies to drive best practice outcomes
- Acute care and critical care setting with complex, high-acuity patient population
Requirements:
- Active New Jersey or Compact state RN license required at time of submission
- BLS certification required
- WCN or WOCN certification highly preferred
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience; previous charge experience required
- Proficiency in pressure ulcer assessment and management in acute/critical care settings
- Expertise in ostomy care and management, wound staging, prevention risk assessment tools, and various wound treatment and dressing methods
- Must be available to work 2 of 3 holidays; floating within skillset required
