Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Evening/Night shifts, 12-hour shifts (1900-0730), every other weekend, some holidays, no call

Highlights:

• 27-bed Cardiovascular and Cardiothoracic ICU in a Magnet-designated, nationally ranked academic medical center
• Specialized patient population including CABG, valve repair/replacement, heart and lung transplants, LVAD, ECMO, and advanced cardiac procedures
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and physical therapy
• Patient assignments typically 1-2 patients with support from 2 charge nurses and a dedicated resource nurse per shift
• Epic charting system with 24 hours of orientation provided
• Dynamic environment with planned and emergent procedures, requiring technological expertise and advanced critical care skills

Requirements:

• Active Wisconsin RN license (must be in hand at time of submission) or compact state license
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care CVICU experience within the last 3 years (required)
• Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• CVICU experience required; Cardiothoracic Surgery and/or Acuity Adaptable area experience preferred
• Experience and knowledge of NextStage CVVH machine required
• Proficiency with CRRT (NxStage), IABP, Impella, HM3 LVAD, ECMO, and Zoll Thermoguard required
• Basic Arrhythmia experience required; must pass telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to start (100% identification of lethal rhythms, 80% overall passing score)
• Trauma Level I experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
