Job Opportunity – Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU RN – Wisconsin

Start Date: May 18, 2026

Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour shifts (day or night), 7:00am-7:30pm or 7:30pm-7:00am. Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays required. Flexible 8-week or 13-week assignments available.

Highlights:

• Mixed CVPICU and PICU unit caring for critically ill children with cardiac, respiratory, neurological, transplant, and trauma conditions
• 1:1 or 1:2 patient ratios with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• State-of-the-art 21-bed unit within a Magnet-designated comprehensive pediatric medical and surgical center
• Epic charting system with advanced equipment experience including ECMO, CRRT, and VAD
• 36-hour structured orientation with ongoing competency support
• May float to NICU and general care units as needed

Requirements:

• Wisconsin RN or Compact RN license (must be in hand at time of application)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care pediatric ICU experience within the last 3 years
• At least 1 year of cardiovascular/cardiac ICU experience required
• Strong high-acuity hospital experience; Level II trauma experience may be considered with solid CV background
• Epic charting experience required
• AHA BLS and PALS certifications current and active
• Must successfully pass telemetry competency exam prior to start (80% passing score with strict criteria for lethal rhythm identification)
• First-time travelers accepted if 3+ years of experience in high-acuity hospital setting
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
