Description
Start Date: June 1, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour shifts, day/night rotating or nights only. Self-scheduling with requests accommodated when possible. Weekend coverage variable based on unit needs.
Highlights:
- Specialize in caring for newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients in a 24-bed inpatient oncology unit
- Patient ratios targeted at 1:4, with maximum of 1:5
- High-acuity environment with frequent blood product administration, IV antibiotics, and electrolyte management
- Epic EMR system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, rapid response teams, and therapy services
- 72 hours of orientation including one full week of day shift followed by preceptored on-unit training
- Strong focus on infection prevention protocols and patient safety
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of overall nursing experience required
- At least 1 year of recent inpatient hematology/oncology experience, including medical-surgical oncology and leukemia/blood dyscrasias
- Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
- Current RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
- BLS, ACLS, and ONS Chemotherapy Certification required
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Epic charting system experience required
- Proficiency in telemetry interpretation, dysrhythmia monitoring, chemotherapy administration, central line management, PICC line care, IV therapy, and blood product administration
- Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager or formal supervisor
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required

Cons
Scheduled every weekend, floated for the first 6 weeks of contract every shift. Not traveler friendly even though they say they are. Staff are treated well not travelers.
