Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Progressive Care Unit – New York

Start Date: May 12, 2026

Location: Rochester, New York

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 13-week contract. Every other weekend required. Must be available to work every other holiday, if needed.

Highlights:

• Progressive Care Unit specializing in long-term pulmonary patients, ENT surgery, and surgical step-down care
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4–5 with adult and geriatric populations
• EPIC charting system utilized throughout the facility
• Working at a 528-bed Magnet-recognized acute care teaching hospital with advanced specialty institutes
• 16 hours of paid orientation provided
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy

Requirements:

• Active New York Single State RN license in hand (New York is not a Compact state; pending licenses not accepted)
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required; previous travel nursing experience preferred
• EPIC charting experience required
• Proficiency in telemetry and step-down level care (PCU/DOU/IMC)
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and cardiac drip management
• Competency in blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, IV therapy, and non-invasive airway management
• Experience with patient ratios of 1:5
• Willingness to float within skillset to ICU and/or Medical-Surgical units
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
• Maximum of 10 days requested time off during the contract period
