Description
Start Date: May 11, 2026
Location: Charlottesville, Virginia
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Night shift, 36 or 48 hours per week, 13-week contract, every other weekend
Highlights:
- 17-bed medical-surgical telemetry unit with 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Diverse patient population including diabetes, sickle cell crisis, COPD exacerbations, ESRD, wound care, and more
- Epic charting system required; strong interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
- 40 hours of orientation provided; block scheduling requested but not guaranteed
- Up to 40 hours approved for time off (blackout dates: Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day)
- Professional practice model rooted in ASPIRE values and continuous quality improvement initiatives
Requirements:
- Active Virginia RN license (may submit with license pending, but must have license in hand the Wednesday before start date)
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience; previous charge experience preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Experience with 1:4 or 1:5 patient ratios
- Telemetry, IV management, and Med/Surg skills required
- Community hospital, LTAC, or Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Must adhere to float policy within scope of practice
- Flu vaccination required (no exemptions); COVID-19 vaccination not required
- BSN preferred
