Job Opportunity – Medical/Surgical Telemetry Nurse – New York

Start Date: June 15, 2026
Location: Upstate New York
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Weekend coverage required (every other weekend); 12-hour shifts with patient ratios of 1:6 on days, 1:7 on nights, and 1:8 on weekends

Highlights:

• 25-bed unit with average daily census of 20 patients, serving adult and geriatric populations
• Epic EMR system used for all charting and documentation
• Strong interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, phlebotomy, and radiology
• Diverse patient population including COPD, pneumonia, chest pain, cellulitis, CVA, seizure disorders, and substance withdrawal cases
• 12-hour orientation provided; pre-start modules available (up to 5 hours billable)
• One pre-approved time off period available during contract

Requirements:

• Active New York State RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of recent Medical/Surgical and Telemetry nursing experience
• Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Epic charting system experience is mandatory
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility location
• Proficiency in telemetry interpretation, dysrhythmia management, and cardiac monitoring
• Competency in IV therapy including peripheral line care, PICC line management, and central line care
• Experience with respiratory interventions including BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and oxygen administration
• Skills in blood product administration, wound care, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Willingness to float to other units as needed
• Limited requested time off (maximum 10 days)
