Description
Start Date: June 8, 2026
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 36 hours per week, 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15), 13-week contract
Highlights:
- Work in a Level III/IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit caring for critically ill neonates including premature infants as young as 22 weeks gestation
- Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2-4 with no call requirement
- Manage complex cases including surgical infants, therapeutic hypothermia, nitric oxide therapy, and advanced ventilator support
- Utilize Epic charting system and advanced equipment including HFOV, Servo vents, and specialized neonatal technology
- Self-scheduling model per unit needs with 24 hours of comprehensive unit orientation
- Weekend requirement: 3 Fridays, 3 Saturdays, and 3 Sundays per 6-week period
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of recent experience in a Level III or Level IV NICU required
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required
- North Carolina or Compact state RN license (must be active at start date)
- Ventilator management experience required, including AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BiPAP/PEEP
- Experience with umbilical lines (UAC/UVC), central line care, therapeutic hypothermia, and nitric oxide administration
- Competency in bottle, breast, and gavage feedings, thermoregulation, and tracheostomy care
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions available)
- Willingness to float to pediatrics, PICU, or nursery caring for infants up to 12 months of age
