Description
Start Date: June 8, 2026
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Evening/Night shifts, 12-hour shifts (1900-0700), rotating every other weekend
Highlights:
- Work at a Magnet-designated, nationally ranked Level I Trauma Center and academic medical facility
- Flexibility to rotate across multiple critical care units including Neuro ICU, Cardiovascular/Cardiothoracic ICU, Burn ICU, Trauma ICU, Medical-Surgical ICU, and Progressive Care
- Patient ratio of 3:1 with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
- 28 hours of orientation with Epic charting system
- High-acuity patient population with exposure to advanced procedures and technology
- Engage with Shared Governance in a leading academic teaching environment
Requirements:
- Active Wisconsin RN license or valid compact state RN license
- Minimum 5 years of critical care nursing experience with at least 2 years of acute care experience in specialty within the last 3 years
- Level I Trauma Center experience required
- Travel nursing experience required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association only)
- Competency in multiple ICU specialties including experience with Neuro ICU, Cardiothoracic, Burn ICU, Trauma Surgery, and IMC/Progressive/General care populations
- Proficiency with Epic EMR system
- Must successfully pass telemetry competency exam prior to start (strict passing criteria with 100% accuracy on lethal rhythms and 80% overall)
- Preferred: Previous charge experience, NIHSS, TNCC certifications
- Advanced skills required: arterial line management, central line care, ventilator management, vasoactive drip titration, CRRT/CVVHD, hemodynamic monitoring, and management of high-acuity multi-system patients
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
