Description
Start Date: June 8, 2026
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Evening/Night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), 8 or 12-hour shifts available, every other weekend rotation required, holiday coverage as needed
Highlights:
- Work in a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma Center ranked as Wisconsin's number one hospital
- Float to multiple critical care units including Neuro ICU, Cardiovascular/Cardiothoracic ICU, Burn ICU, Trauma ICU, Medical/Surgical ICU, and Progressive Care
- Experience an academic teaching environment with opportunities for professional growth and shared governance participation
- Patient ratio of 3:1 for both day and night shifts with comprehensive interdisciplinary support
- Epic charting system with approximately 28 hours of orientation provided
- Autonomy and flexibility working with high-acuity adult and geriatric populations across diverse critical care settings
Requirements:
- Wisconsin RN license or Compact state RN license (must be in hand at time of submittal)
- Minimum 5 years of RN experience; must have completed 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in critical care specialty
- Level I Trauma Center experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association only)
- NIHSS and TNCC preferred
- Competency in multiple ICU specialties required (Neuro ICU, CVICU, Burn ICU, Trauma ICU, Medical ICU)
- Strong telemetry and basic arrhythmia interpretation skills; must pass telemetry exam with strict criteria prior to start (100% identification of lethal rhythms, 80% or higher overall passing score)
- Experience with advanced critical care skills including ventilator management, CRRT, arterial line management, vasoactive drip titration, and care of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction
