Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Tennessee

Start Date: June 8, 2026
Location: Hermitage, Tennessee
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week; every other weekend requirement; self-scheduling available on 4-week rotations

Highlights:

• 59-bed Progressive Care Unit with 1:4–1:5 patient ratios on days and 1:5–1:6 on nights
• Advanced equipment experience including BiPAPs, high-flow oxygen, Vapotherm, cardiac drips, insulin drips, heparin drips, and peritoneal dialysis
• Meditech documentation system with comprehensive tech support (2–3 techs per shift when fully staffed)
• Specialized procedures including thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube insertions, and central line management
• Self-scheduling model with strong teamwork culture; most travelers extend their contracts
• Floating may occur between PCU units or to med-surg floors as needed

Requirements:

• Active RN license
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Strong critical thinking and EKG rhythm interpretation skills
• Experience with cardiac drips, insulin drips, and heparin drips
• Peripheral IV insertion skills
• Experience with stroke care, post-cardiac cath care, tube feedings, and NG/Dobhoff tubes preferred
• Peritoneal dialysis experience highly preferred
