Description
Start Date: June 22, 2026
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Evening/Night shifts consisting of (2) 12-hour and (2) 8-hour shifts per week totaling 40 hours. Shift times: 7:00pm-7:30am and 11:00pm-7:30am. Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays required. 3:1 patient ratio.

- Care for thoracic surgery, cardiac stepdown, and medical IMC patient populations including lobectomies, esophagectomies, lung volume reduction surgery, and cardiac surgery stepdown patients
- Rotating assignment between IMC Acute Med/Progressive Care unit and IMC Thoracic unit with opportunities to assist with bedside procedures including chest tube insertion
- Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
- Unit census of approximately 7 beds with focus on evidence-based practice, teamwork, and compassionate care
- Opportunity to work in a dynamic environment emphasizing innovation and critical thinking in acute and progressive care settings
Requirements:
- Active Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license
- BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association only)
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in telemetry, oncology, cardiac, or PCU/DOU/IMC/stepdown specialty
- Ventilator and transplant experience required
- ICU or IMC and surgical post-op experience required; must be willing to work with IMC or general care patient populations
- Epic charting system experience required
- Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, cardiac rhythm interpretation, arterial line management, central line care, ventilator management, vasoactive drip titration, and critical care skills
- Must successfully pass telemetry competency exam prior to start date with strict passing criteria including 100% identification of lethal rhythms and 80% overall score
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Must reside 50 miles or more from the facility
