Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, CVICU – Wisconsin

Start Date: July 6, 2026
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Evening/Night shifts, 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), every other weekend, some holidays, no call

Highlights:

• 27-bed Cardiovascular/Cardiothoracic ICU in a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma facility
• Dynamic patient population including CABG, valve repair/replacement, heart and lung transplant, LVAD, ECMO, and cardiac medical patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1-2 patients (occasionally 3 general care patients during low acuity periods)
• Epic charting system with 24 hours of paid orientation
• Strong interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretaries
• Access to advanced technology including CRRT (NxStage), IABP, Impella, LVAD, and ECMO

Requirements:

• Active Wisconsin or Compact RN license
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of acute CVICU experience within the last 3 years
• Hands-on experience with NextStage CVVH machine (required)
• Basic Arrhythmia interpretation skills; must pass telemetry exam prior to start (strict passing criteria applies)
• Experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery and/or Acuity Adaptable care settings preferred
• Level I Trauma experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Must reside 50 miles or more from the facility
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
