Job Opportunity – Cardiovascular ICU Registered Nurse – Wisconsin

Start Date: July 6, 2026
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Evening/Night 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, every other weekend, some holidays, no call

Highlights:

• 27-bed dynamic Cardiovascular and Cardiothoracic ICU specializing in cardiac surgery, heart and lung transplants, and medical cardiac patients
• Patient ratios typically 1-2 patients per nurse with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Epic charting system with 24 hours of orientation to prepare you for success
• Exposure to advanced procedures and technology including CRRT (NxStage), IABP, Impella, LVAD, and ECMO
• Work within a Magnet-designated facility recognized as Wisconsin's premier hospital and a nationally ranked teaching institution
• Care for diverse patient diagnoses including CABG, valve repair/replacement, heart and lung transplants, STEMI/NSTEMI, and cardiogenic shock

Requirements:

• Active Wisconsin RN license or compact state license
• Minimum 2 years of acute care CVICU experience within the last 3 years
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA)
• Demonstrated experience and knowledge of NextStage CVVH machine required
• Experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery and/or Acuity Adaptable areas preferred
• Trauma Level I experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Basic Arrhythmia experience with ability to pass telemetry examination prior to start (80% passing score with 100% accuracy on lethal rhythms)
• Candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
