Job Opportunity – Neuro ICU Registered Nurse – New Mexico

Start Date: ASAP
Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week; patient ratio 1:2; weekends vary based on unit needs

Highlights:

• Work in a 16-bed Neuro ICU at a Level I Trauma Center with 554 staffed beds
• Care for patients with TBI, SAH, SDH, tumor resections, status epilepticus, and other neurologic disorders
• Gain experience with EVD insertions, A-line and central line insertion, CRRT, post-TPA care, and post-thrombectomy care
• Utilize Cerner charting system in a teaching hospital environment
• Minimum 10-week assignment with block scheduling consideration; no parking fees
• 24 hours of orientation with robust interdisciplinary support including PT, respiratory, pharmacy, and rapid response teams

Requirements:

• Active New Mexico RN license or ability to obtain (pending licensure accepted)
• Minimum 1.5 years of Neuro ICU experience required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications (RQI not accepted)
• Trauma Level II experience required; Level I experience preferred
• Proficiency in ICP monitoring, ventilator management, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, EVD and CRRT equipment
• Experience with care of ventilated patients, CVA/acute stroke management, and titration of vasoactive and cardiac drips
• Willingness to float to other ICUs, PCU floors, ED, or PACU as needed
• Must reside outside 100-mile radius from facility
• Flu vaccine required; COVID-19 vaccine optional
