Location: Northern California
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour shifts available upon request; 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio; 36-hour orientation

Highlights:

• LDRP unit in a 277-bed acute care facility with 10 labor and delivery rooms and average daily census of 12
• Facility delivers 200-300 births per month; Epic charting system
• Work with neonates and adult patient populations in a dynamic maternal care environment
• 13-week assignment with potential to float to affiliate facilities as needed
• Guaranteed hours with minimal call-off policy (once per two-week pay period maximum)
• Strong precepting skills are a plus

Requirements:

• Active California RN license in hand (pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery and Postpartum experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not eligible
• Required Certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, NRP
• Preferred Certification: AWHONN Advanced
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with 1:3 patient ratios
• Must be outside 50-mile local radius
• Two professional references covering one year within the last three years
• Willingness to work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)

Clinical Skills Required:

• Labor and delivery and postpartum care (both required)
• Triage of obstetrical patients and sterile vaginal exams
• High-risk antepartum care and circulating for C-sections
• Magnesium sulfate therapy, insulin drips, and antihypertensives
• IUPC placement and calibration
• Central line maintenance (CVC/PICC) and anticoagulation therapy
• Isolation precautions and PPE protocols
