Job Opportunity – Medical Laboratory Technologist (Blood Bank) – Georgia

Start Date: September 8, 2026

Location: Atlanta, Georgia

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Full-time travel assignment; every third weekend required; no call coverage; floating within facility/scope of practice as needed (rare)

Highlights:

• Primary focus on blood bank operations and transfusion services
• Opportunity to work with diverse procedures including ABO/Rh typing, antibody screening and identification, crossmatching, transfusion reaction workups, and blood product management
• Participate in critical blood banking protocols including antigen typing, electronic crossmatch, and therapeutic procedures
• Maximum 7 days requested time off per contract period
• Local candidates accepted at same rate as travelers
• Holiday coverage required based on contract duration (major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's)

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of Medical Technologist experience required – first-time travelers not accepted
• Previous travel experience required
• Valid certification: ASCP, ASCP MT, ASCP-BB, AMT, or ABB (MLT certification not accepted)
• Georgia state license or Compact license required at time of submission
• Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
• Blood bank experience strongly preferred
• Proficiency with electronic charting systems required
• Full compliance documentation required prior to start date; orientation schedule is bi-weekly
