Description
Start Date: August 3, 2026
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour evening/night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), includes every other weekend and some holidays
Highlights:
- 18-bed Neuroscience ICU within a Comprehensive Stroke Center at Wisconsin's top-ranked hospital
- Magnet-designated teaching facility recognized nationally for clinical excellence
- 2:1 patient ratios across all shifts with robust interdisciplinary support including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and specialty services
- Specialized case mix including stroke patients, post-thrombectomy, post-neurosurgery, traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord injury
- Advanced procedures including ICP monitoring, external ventricular drains, lumbar drains, and hypothermia protocols
- Epic charting system with comprehensive documentation support
Requirements:
- Active RN license (Wisconsin or compact state)
- BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association only)
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care ICU experience required
- Neurosurgery experience strongly preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- Must pass telemetry competency exam prior to start with strict passing criteria
- Experience with ICP monitoring or ventricular drains required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions available)
- Must reside more than 50 miles from facility
