Description
Start Date: July 20, 2026
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15), 36 hours per week, every other weekend required
Highlights:
- Comprehensive Stroke Center specializing in complex neurocritical care
- Patient ratios of 2:1, may flex to 3:1 during high census periods
- Average daily census of 11-12 patients on a 13-bed unit
- 13-week assignment with 24-hour orientation period
- Work with advanced neuro equipment including EVDs, lumbar drains, Camino, LICOX, NICOM, and Arctic Sun
- Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support teams
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of dedicated Neuro ICU experience required (general ICU does not qualify)
- Previous travel experience required – first-time travelers not accepted
- Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
- Strong clinical skills in: ventilator management, IV starts, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, blood product administration, central line care, continuous IV sedation, CVA/acute stroke management, external ventricular drains, ICP monitoring, post-neurosurgery management, and lumbar drain experience
- Willingness to float within facility as needed
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)

You'll manage a diverse and challenging case mix including ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, subdural hematomas, craniotomies, carotid procedures, aneurysm interventions, and advanced neuro monitoring. With robust interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and specialized therapies, you'll be part of a collaborative environment dedicated to delivering exceptional neurocritical care to patients during their most critical moments.
