Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15), 36 hours per week, every other weekend required

Highlights:

• Comprehensive Stroke Center specializing in complex neurocritical care
• Patient ratios of 2:1, may flex to 3:1 during high census periods
• Average daily census of 11-12 patients on a 13-bed unit
• 13-week assignment with 24-hour orientation period
• Work with advanced neuro equipment including EVDs, lumbar drains, Camino, LICOX, NICOM, and Arctic Sun
• Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support teams

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of dedicated Neuro ICU experience required (general ICU does not qualify)
• Previous travel experience required – first-time travelers not accepted
• Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Strong clinical skills in: ventilator management, IV starts, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, blood product administration, central line care, continuous IV sedation, CVA/acute stroke management, external ventricular drains, ICP monitoring, post-neurosurgery management, and lumbar drain experience
• Willingness to float within facility as needed
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
