Description
Start Date: August 3, 2026
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Evening/Night shifts, 8- or 12-hour rotations (1900-0730), every other weekend and some holidays required
Highlights:
- Float across multiple ICU specialties including Neuro ICU, Cardiovascular/Cardiothoracic ICU, Burn ICU, Trauma Surgery ICU, Medical-Surgical ICU, and Intermediate Care/Progressive units
- Work at a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma Center ranked #1 in Wisconsin
- Epic charting system with 28 hours of orientation provided
- 3:1 patient ratios on both day and night shifts
- Academic medical center environment with opportunities for professional growth and shared governance
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and more
Requirements:
- Active Wisconsin RN license or compact license
- BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association only)
- Minimum 5 years of acute care RN experience; Level I Trauma experience required
- At least 2 years of recent acute care experience within the last 3 years in critical care specialty
- Previous travel experience required
- Competency in multiple ICU specialties (Neuro ICU, CVICU, Burn ICU, Trauma ICU, Medical ICU, etc.)
- Strong skills in ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, vasoactive drip titration, arterial line management, and advanced critical care interventions
- Must successfully pass a telemetry competency exam prior to start date with strict passing criteria (80% overall, 100% on lethal rhythms)
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Must reside 50 miles or more from the facility
