Description
Start Date: August 10, 2026
Location: Lubbock, Texas
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour shifts with self-scheduling flexibility; 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period; no on-call required; block scheduling approved but not required
Highlights:
- Level II Trauma Center with 379 staffed beds providing comprehensive stroke and STEMI services
- Manageable 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio across all shifts
- Epic electronic medical record system with 36 hours of orientation provided
- High-acuity emergency department with 42 treatment rooms, 46 beds, and average daily census of 136 visits
- Diverse patient population including pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
- Full interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, and interpretation services
Requirements:
- Active RN license (Compact license accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of emergency room nursing experience (required)
- Current certifications: ACLS, PALS, BLS, NIHSS, and TNCC
- Experience with patient ratios of 1:3 or similar
- Epic charting system experience required
- Community hospital and trauma center experience strongly preferred
- Proficiency in stroke management, trauma care, BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care, central line management, IV vasopressors, and triage
